Becoming a formal member at our church is a step that we encourage people to take who have been a part of our community for a period of time and who are committed to the health and future direction of the church.

We don’t make a big distinction between members and non-members in the normal running of the church but the main reason we have church membership is that we believe that we best discern God’s heart and direction for us as a church together. This is why we have member’s meetings where people vote on the most significant decisions facing our church like staff appointments, Church Council appointments, budget etc.

In deciding to become a member of our church you are expressing your commitment to the church family and agreeing to participate in our corporate decision making processes, i.e. members meetings.

FULL AND ASSOCIATE MEMBERSHIP

There are two types of church membership, full and associate. If you have been baptised by immersion then you can apply for full membership. If you haven’t been baptised by immersion you can apply for associate membership. There is not much practical difference, although you must have full membership to be a Pastor or join the Church Council. The church constitution explains some of our core doctrines and how the church is structured and operates.

BEFORE CONSIDERING MEMBERSHIP, WE ASK EVERYONE WHO BECOMES A MEMBER TO BE:

Attending a Sunday Service Regularly
Giving To The Ministry of The Church
Involved in an area of serving
Attending Members meetings when possible

BY BECOMING A MEMBER, YOU ARE ALSO AGREEING WITH THE MISSION, VALUES, AND VISION OF THE CHURCH, AND TAKING AN ACTIVE PART IN PURSUING THESE.
Normally people would be a part of the church for 6-12 months to before applying for membership so they can check this.
